Coast Inc's Corner Chat: Sydney Haedrich

Sydney grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, and studied communications in Minneapolis. She took a leap of faith on a new opportunity, one she hasn't looked back on since. We sat down with one of Coast Inc.'s own to hear what makes this place special in her own words.

How did you first hear about Coast Inc.?

I was working in a different part of the country at the time, in a different city within our organization, when the opportunity came up to work at Coast. Honestly, it felt like a risk, but I took it. I've loved it ever since. Our entire team is awesome. Working here is very fun, very fast-paced, and it just feels rewarding at the end of each day, knowing I've accomplished something.

How has Coast Inc. helped you achieve your goals?

Oh my gosh, it has pushed me in so many ways I didn't even know were possible. It might sound cheesy because I am very hardworking and determined, but every single day, I'm pushing myself further. (Coast) has helped me make better decisions, not just professionally, but personally too. I thought I was already mature and a strong leader, but I still find new things about myself every day. I'm always improving those skills.

What does working at Coast Inc. mean to you?

It's the team environment I was always looking for. I've always needed to be doing multiple things at once, in school, at work, always juggling. Being here, I can have this one position, and it fills all of that need. As I mentioned, it has pushed me to reach goals I never thought were possible, and it's provided me with an opportunity I've never found anywhere else.

How does Coast fit your personality?

I love talking to people, that's why I went into communications. I knew I wanted a role that was customer-facing, all about building relationships. I do that every single day. There is not one day when I'm not talking to someone, learning their story, or helping them in whatever way I can. This job lets me do exactly that. It's very, very rewarding, and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves working with people. You can definitely go a long way here.

What's the funniest or most meaningful memory you have from working here?

My favorite memory: we were all in the office one day, and I was taking photos of the team. Out of nowhere, one of our employees did a full cartwheel, in a suit, just to make someone else laugh in the photo. I still have that video on my phone, and I use it to make the team smile to this day. It was completely unexpected and so funny.

If someone was on the fence about working at Coast, what would you tell them?

Have fun, and get to know our team because we want to get to know you, too. What we do here is genuinely unique; we separate ourselves from others. So take in all the information, keep an open mind, and ask us as many questions as you can; we'll always have answers. Finding a new job is one of the hardest decisions you can make. It affects your family, your personal life, and your work-life balance. We understand that. That's why we're here every step of the way. We're a fun, supportive environment with real mentorship and training.

Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, Sydney spent most of her life in her hometown before deciding to branch out and pursue new opportunities after graduation. She moved to Minneapolis, where she earned a degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Global Communication and Media.

Before joining the organization, Sydney built experience across several industries, including journalism, face-to-face marketing, and sales within the home improvement sector. Since joining the Coast organization, she has worked in multiple roles, collaborated with teams across different cities, and helped develop professionals as they advance in their careers.

What excites Sydney most is the opportunity to connect with new people and help them discover their potential. She looks forward to getting to know every individual she meets and is always eager to connect with candidates who are ready to take the next step in their careers.
